Keeping your nails healthy and beautiful will show off great in your wedding photos. The book Organic Beauty by Josephine Fairley says that “nails need the same nutrients as skin and hair-and if your nails fall short, your nails will show it. A common cause of brittle nails is thought to be iron deficiency. Too little vitamin A and calcium also cause nail dryness and brittleness, while inadequate intake of B vitamins results in excessive dryness and nail fragility.”
Diet and exercise can give you energy and get you in shape for your wedding. Start developing healthy eating habits and exercise routines to help you get on the right track when you get married. Think of it as a fresh start. The earlier you start the better.

Taken with meals, the enzymes in the juice help us digest our foods. If you’re in a hurry, fresh juice can be used as a meal substitute.
The late nights spent planning your wedding can leave your eyes puffy and tired looking. To help reduce puffiness of the eyes, pour boiling water over two chamomile tea bags. Let the tea steep and then cool it down. Put the cup with the tea and tea bags into the fridge to make them cool. Then lay back and place the tea bags on your eyes for at least 15 minutes
Another great way to reduce eye puffiness is to tap the bone around the eye sharply with the middle finger, moving along the bone to circle the eye. This can help drain the fluid from the eye area, which causes puffiness. (Tip taken from Organic Beauty by Josephine Fairley).
To draw attention away from red eyes, avoid eye red tinted eye makeup such as: purple, pink, and burgundy shades.
Choosing to hire a make-up artist is a good idea since they will most likely know how to get your face picture-ready. Having a trial make-up run would let you see how good your make-up artist is and let you experiment with different shades and colors for your face.
Exfoliate your face every four weeks before your wedding. This will ensure that you will have radiant and glowing skin.
Drinking lots of water will also make your skin and body healthy. Water hydrates skin and flushes your body of pollutants and toxins.
Don’t use soap to wash your face. Soap dries out all the oils in your skin. Use cream to remove make-up. Rinse your face with warm water and finish off with a splash of cold water to help close the pores.
Book your hair appointment at least a month ahead. Give yourself plenty of time for hair and makeup on your wedding day. Most appointments take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on your hair length and if your whole bridal party is joining you at the same salon. Go for a trial hair run and bring your veil and tiara.
If you plan to get your hair colored or cut, do it at least a week ahead incase you don’t get the color or cut you were looking for.
