BUYING A WEDDING DRESS
Depending on the dress you choose, unless it is a ready-to-wear dress or sample dress bought off the floor, your dress will need to be ordered since it is custom made. A couple fittings may follow so you need plenty of time. You may need anywhere from nine to twelve months. So it is a good idea to start looking for your dress ASAP.
A gown that looks great on a model in the magazine or on another bride may not be the right one for your body type. There are thousands of wedding dresses out there with different cuts and designs. It’s a good idea to research the different dress styles and their neckline cuts to find out which styles will complement your body type.
Choose a dress that draws your eye away from the problematic body parts. Using the right accessories can draw the crowd’s attention away from those parts.

Choose a dress that will match the style of your wedding ceremony and reception. Is it going to be formal, semiformal, or informal? Is it going to be sleek and sophisticated, or traditional? The location of your reception is also a key to choosing the appropriate dress style.

When deciding on the length of train on your dress, remember that the more formal your wedding is, the longer the train can be.
If your dress will have a long train you will most likely want to bustle it up to small hooks on the back. Some dresses may come without the small hooks so check.
At your wedding, you will most likely need someons help to bustle your dress. Make sure the person knows how to bustle your dress. Letting them practice a couple times before your wedding is a good idea.
Don’t buy the first dress you try on even though you may feel that this is the one. Try other dresses in different styles. You may end up returning and buying the first dress you tried on but at least you wont have any doubts later.
